Model GS195 sofa or daybed designed by Gianni Songia for Sormani in the early 1960s. The design is defined by its architectural rosewood frame and generous leather cushions, with three rectangular seat pads and cylindrical back cushions arranged in a clear linear composition. The structure incorporates a sliding mechanism that allows the piece to transform from a sofa into a daybed with a single movement. Raised on sculptural supports and framed by the angled side elements, the sofa appears almost suspended, giving the substantial form a surprising sense of lightness.


CONDITION
Structurally sound. The leather shows some fading and light crackling in places, consistent with age, but remains in good overall condition without significant damage.
