A pair of French oak and woven straw armchairs produced in the 1960s. The design combines thick square oak elements with woven straw seats and backrests, creating a strong contrast between structure and texture.

The frame is reduced to clear, almost architectural lines, while the woven straw introduces a softer and more tactile surface. Deep proportions and low seating give the chairs a grounded presence, characteristic of the more rustic side of French modernism during the postwar period.

French furniture of the 1950s and 1960s increasingly moved toward direct construction and natural materials, influenced by designers such as Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Chapo, where oak, straw, and visible joinery became central design elements.
