DETAILS
Designed by Douglas Deeds for Sintoform in 1972, this pair of outdoor lounge chairs reflects the sculptural approach to furniture that emerged in the United States during the early 1970s. Each chair is moulded as a single fiberglass shell, its continuous form flowing seamlessly from the base into the generously curved seat and backrest. The design is reduced to its essentials, relying on proportion and silhouette rather than ornament. Despite their robust construction, the chairs possess a remarkable visual lightness, with the sweeping curves giving them an almost floating appearance.


CONDITION
The fiberglass shells exhibit surface wear, scratches and weathering from outdoor use. Structurally completely sound.
