Sculptural French table lamp from the 1950s, featuring an abstract ceramic base in a deep matte black finish. The freely modeled form is characteristic of the artistic ceramic movement that emerged in postwar France. Its architectural composition of curved volumes and open spaces shows a strong affinity with the sculptural language associated with Georges Jouve and his contemporaries.
