A beautiful and very decorative hand crafted roman head in sandstone. It dates to the 16th century and originates from Rome, Italy. This sculpture is based on the models of the early roman empire and features very fine carving and eye for detail, presenting folds and textures comparable to some of the best artists of the early period. A stunning patina evolved on the sandstone texture over time, giving it a rich depth and maximum elegance. Mounted on a square wooden base. The sculpture remains in a very good condition, structurally strong without damages or reparations.
