DETAILS
A large French slatted wood coffee table, also suitable as a bench, produced in the 1960s. The design is defined by a wide, horizontal top composed of evenly spaced wooden slats set within a solid frame. The slatted construction creates a clear linear rhythm across the surface, a feature closely associated with Perriand’s work in alpine interiors, where furniture was reduced to essential elements and repeated forms. The top rests on slender metal legs, introducing a contrast between the warmth of the wood and the more industrial character of the base. This combination reflects a broader shift in French design of the period toward natural materials paired with simple, functional structures. This piece is very heavy due to the construction in solid wood.


CONDITION
Wear consistent with age and use with some minor losses. Occasional small edgewear.
